Hi there! My name is Kirsty. I love to bake. As I am gluten free, I always develop my recipes with gluten free ingredients and with 20 years of home baking for family and friends, I have decided to share my recipes old and new. Here you will find all sorts of recipes that are great for bakers of all levels, with step by step guides and images to help you along the way. All recipes show their level of difficulty and the easy ones are great to do with kids too. As a self proclaimed baking enthusiast, my passion for baking started when I was a child, watching and helping my mother and grandmothers bake delicious treats in the kitchen. From a simple sponges to millionaires shortbreads, home made jams, Scottish tablet, trifles; I was lucky enough to eat these homemade delights and have women to look up too and learn from.
In my mid-teens however I became gluten and wheat intolerant, no longer able to eat the homemade goodies as they were all made with wheat flour. So I started to experiment adapting recipes using gluten free ingredients. I spent hours perfecting my recipes (I still do), by experimenting with different flavours, textures, measurements and timings. (All recipes are therefore thoroughly tried and tested.) Since then I have shared my gluten free bakes with friends and family, all of which have gone down very well. I am now teaching my eldest to bake (so you may see some little hands in the photographs on my blog).

Photography
A second passion/hobby of mine is photography. So all the photography on my blog is my own. I generally just use my phone and natural light to take the photographs. Some are planned and staged, most of them are taken as I go along the baking process.
